  • The Indonesian government is actively promoting both Lombok and neighboring Sumbawa islands as Indonesia’s number two tourism destination after Bali
  • NTB government has set a multi-year (2011-2013) budget of approximately USD
  • 500,000 for local government budgets (APBD / Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah) for tourism sector
  • In 2012 many roads in Lombok were fully upgraded and black – topped. On 2013, the government of West Nusa Tenggara plans to begin the construction work of the bypass road that will connect the Lombok International Airport to the Southern ring of Mataram.
